noticed www.wootswap.com goes to deezil's blog.

i keep having to go to the woot swap thread to find cng's sig line to come to the forums! *lol* how long do you figure before the URL points in the right direction so i can put up a bookmark?

After the domain was transferred (ty msgreef), Deezil is hosting it (for free

), but he has "one more thing to work out before things start working just right". So, soon, but not just yet, lol?

what was the deal with msgreef anyway? i thought that whole conversation was kind of harsh. pete let out his inner bulldog!! Shocked

the guy struck me as someone who got excited over the idea of wootswap and just wanted to be involved. he just jumped the gun a bit. kind of like george and the pretty girl from Of Mice and Men. all he wanted to do was pet the pretty girl's hair and then she STARTED SCREAMING AND OH, I GOT SO SCARED . . .

um, i mean george got scared. yeah. george. Very Happy

Yeah, I tried to lighten things up so that msgreenf wasn't further demonized. He did get excited and saw that we hadn't registered the domain...but went on to start building a seperate website, which was what caused the controversy.

We wanted to see if this would a)work without being problematic for woot b)see if there was any interest. To get a bunch of other people involved was premature and...well, things are confusing enough, right now, w/out having more than just cng and me behind the scenes.

Because of the name and the fact that wootswap's membership is evolving Wink

from wooters, we didn't want to deal with more outside involvement...

I'm glad that worked out. Though in my opinion, wootswap.ORG would actually be more appropriate.
I was all set to register that and donate it.
Almost grabbed it anyway. It really is only like ten bucks if you know a good registrar.

I think you should use some word other than "culls"
This doesn't remove anything from there. Anyone who wants to can still swap woots there, my bet is there will continue to be a trickle of such traffic in the existing wootswap topic.
